Rowan’s Ordination
Mark your calendar now for Saturday, May 17, 2025. Your KUUC ordination team is working collaboratively with folx from First UU Society of Burlington, VT to plan this special and inspiring day. What is unique in Unitarian Universalism is WHO ordains a minister. It is not the UUA. It is the local congregation – or in this case two congregations – who recognize an individual as worthy of the role of Minister and who bestow the title of Reverend.
We are hoping everyone – young and old – will bear witness to this ordination. We also need your joyful participation in preparing for the day and on the day. More details to follow but this is the partial list:
- People to work with Caroline Stave Viemeister to join “sweat equity” days as we “spruce up the house” for visitors.
- Folx to help prepare the book sale and staff the book sale table that day.
- Folx who will offer home hospitality to out-of-town visitors.
- A crew to put together a generous “coffee hour” before the service as part of our radical hospitality for our out-of-town visitors.
- Ambassadors to make our visitors feel welcome.
- Child carers for our youngest guests.
Each one of us has a gift to share as we prepare for this ordination, which will be long-remembered as a proud day in KUUC’s history! Details to follow. Let us know what gift you can offer to make the ordination a success!
